Traveling Hope

I just read about this from BeneaththeRowanTree (who is our Owl stellar seller for tomorrow, by the way. Check her out here at our blog. Anyway, back to the point of Hope, who is this amazingly crafted little doll shown below...

Hope is traveling around the world for a year, visiting children who are less fortunate in places like hospitals or orphanages. At the end, Hope, all her accessories, and a journal kept by everyone who has kept her over the year will be auctioned off and the proceeds will go to charity. What an exciting idea! BeneaththeRowantree is supposed to be keeping her for a while in September, and I look forward to reading about it. Check out Hope and follow her journey at the website.

The Big Read

i love these things. I stole this one from a friend of a friend on Livejournal. When reposting, please link to http://www.neabigread.org/

From somewhere, probably the website, The Big Read says that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed. Well let's see. Here's how it works.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE, and strikeout the books you read but didn't like.
4) Reprint this list so we can try and track down these people who've read only 6 or less and make them read.

Turns out I've read 20 out of 100. I just want to say there should be different books on this list...lol.

Where the Hell is Matt???

Okay, so this is one of the most random things I've ever seen. Quite possibly ever. My boyfriend saw it on CNN and sent me a link to this YouTube video.

Now, the video is cute enough, yes, but then you check out the story behind it, and start reading some of the journals, and it just gets so much cooler. He has a website, Where The Hell Is Matt? and then a blog too, that has journals and such on it.

Check it out, it's seriously cool.

My boyfriend shared this with me. I find it amusing even though I'm not terribly into the Hobbit, so I thought I'd share.

Waiting For Bilbo
